What is Facial Rejuvenation

The practice of facial rejuvenation and revitalization has a long and rich history in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Chinese healers developed acupuncture, herbal, and dietary changes to find new ways to promote health, longevity, and beauty. Facial acupuncture gained even greater recognition during the Song Dynasty (960-1280 AD) documenting specific acupuncture points and rejuvenation techniques. This centuries old practice draws upon the cumulative experience and wisdom of great Daoist practitioners. Alison utilizes this foundation to offer a natural, safe, and effective way to combat the signs of aging. This is a natural option without the risks of surgery or injections or toxic build-up of chemicals in the body.

As we get older we lose fat, collagen, and elastin which results in sagging, lines, folds, and wrinkles. When acupuncture points are stimulated during a treatment, it will increase circulation of qi and blood, increase collagen and elastin production, improve skin texture and tone, tone muscles, and decrease inflammation. Acupuncture facial rejuvenation is not a quick fix because healing takes place from the inside and works outward. It takes one month for the acupuncture treatments to begin to stimulate new collagen production so it typically takes 6 treatments before you see any results on your face.

Since this is a holistic approach, you will typically feel healthier with decreased stress, improved sleep, increased energy, and improved digestion before you see changes on your face. On average, a series of treatments can take 5 years off your face depending upon your age, skin condition, diet, and overall health. Monthly maintenance treatments are recommended after to minimize the aging process.
