After visiting many doctors who specialize with inner ear disorders and hearing the same negative feedback, it was extremely refreshing to walk into Alison’s office. She was attentive and genuinely wanted to help alleviate my symptoms. She took her time and asked a myriad of questions, to get a feel for what may be causing the issues.
Every other medical professional would find out I had Meniere’s, and quickly express that there was no cure, no known cause, and really nothing they could do. For the first time in over a year with the disease, I had some hope. After weekly visits for a couple of months my symptom’s became manageable, and then limited my treatments to once a month. The key for me being able to break the vicious cycle of my Meniere’s was not only the treatments, but the holistic view Alison takes. She led me down a path to really examine what could be causing these issues.
Through this thinking, with trial and error, I was able to gather that I was extremely sensitive to gluten (before my time with Alison I did not even know what gluten was). Eliminating gluten from my diet was a huge stepping stone for me, which would not have been climbed without Alison’s guidance and constant digging to get to the bottom of my disease.
I am currently feeling great and have not had a major attack since seeing Alison. If there is anyone who like me is getting bombarded with negativity and hopelessness, I strongly recommend visiting Point of Healing. The mere positivity will help in itself. For those specifically burdened with Meniere’s it is important to know there is hope and you can certainly lead a normal rewarding life.
